Privacy Policy

SetWheels is a service operated by Kay Rentals LLC, a California limited liability company ("SetWheels," "we," "us"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over it.

1. Information we collect

• Account information: name, email address, phone number (optional), and city/location.
• Payment information: processed directly by Stripe, our payment processor. SetWheels never stores your raw card number — Stripe returns a token we use to reference the payment.
• Listing information:vehicle details and photos you upload as an Owner, and any eligibility/verification documents (driver's license, registration, insurance) you submit for a listing.
• Booking history: booking requests, dates, locations, use descriptions, status, and digital agreement/insurance acknowledgment timestamps.
• Messages: messages you send to another user through SetWheels in connection with a booking.

2. How we use your information

• To match Owners and Bookers and operate the booking flow;
• To process payments and platform fees;
• To verify Owner eligibility documentation for vehicle listings;
• To detect and prevent fraud and abuse;
• To send transactional emails (booking requests, confirmations, receipts); and
• To respond to support requests and disputes.

3. Who we share information with

We share personal information only with the following service providers, each for a specific purpose:

• Stripe — payment processing and Owner payouts. Stripe receives payment details and the minimum account information needed to process a transaction.
• Resend — transactional email delivery (booking notifications, receipts). Resend receives your email address and the content of the email sent to you.
• Our database is hosted on infrastructure we operate directly — we do not use a third-party backend-as-a-service provider to store your data.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with data brokers or advertisers. We do not currently use any third-party analytics or advertising cookies; if that changes, we will update this policy and this section first.

4. Your privacy rights (California residents — CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

• Know what personal information we have collected about you and how it has been used and shared;
• Delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions (e.g., information we must keep for legal or safety reasons);
• Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information — we do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of today; and
• Non-discrimination — we will not deny you service, charge you a different price, or provide a different level of service for exercising any of these rights.

To submit a request, email privacy@setwheels.app. We will respond within 45 days as required by California law.

5. Data retention

We retain booking history and messages for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal, tax, and dispute-resolution obligations. Eligibility/verification documents are retained for as long as a listing remains active and for a limited period after a listing is removed, then deleted.

6. Children's privacy

SetWheels is not intended for use by anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email and an in-app notice.
